ABOUT NSS
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a student-centered program that operates in colleges and universities across India. The NSS aims to promote social awareness and community service among college students. It is a great platform for students to learn and develop leadership skills while contributing to society.
As a part of the NSS, college students can participate in a range of activities and programs that focus on community service, such as blood donation camps, health camps, tree plantation drives, and awareness campaigns on various social issues. NSS volunteers are also trained in disaster response and first aid, which enables them to serve their communities in times of need.
The NSS is a great opportunity for college students to develop a sense of social responsibility and contribute to the well-being of society. By participating in NSS activities, students can gain practical experience in community service, develop leadership skills, and make a positive impact on society.
Moreover, the NSS volunteers can also earn additional credits that can be added to their academic record, making it a great opportunity for those who want to pursue further studies or career opportunities in the social sector.

- Creating awareness about the importance of voting: NSS volunteers can use this occasion to spread awareness about the importance of voting and how it is essential for the smooth functioning of democracy. They can educate people about the significance of each vote and encourage them to exercise their voting rights.
- Registering new voters: NSS volunteers can assist in registering new voters on this day. They can set up registration booths and help people fill out the necessary forms, which can be a significant contribution towards increasing the number of registered voters in the country.
- Conducting voter awareness campaigns: NSS volunteers can organize voter awareness campaigns in their local communities to encourage people to vote. They can use various mediums like social media, posters, and leaflets to reach out to a wider audience and encourage them to participate in the electoral process.
- Helping voters with disabilities: NSS volunteers can assist voters with disabilities on this day by providing them with transportation to the polling booths and helping them cast their vote. This will ensure that people with disabilities are not excluded from the democratic process.
